Amos

My daughter and I had been talking about going down to the Raymond City boat ramp and getting some shots of the John Amos Power Plant at night, so we did this evening.  I was hoping for more steam to be coming out of the stacks and cooling towers but it still looks pretty cool.  I used my Panasonic LX3.  The shot was a 40 second exposure.  If you click to see a larger picture you can see some small streaks of light, mainly in the upper left corner, those are stars.  I can't decide if I like the color or b&w better.

I like the color, great shot. I'm surprised they allow you to photograph or did you use my old addage " it's better to ask forgiveness than permission ". That usually works best for me.

I like the color one also. Like the feathery wisps of steam, too. Been wanting to go to TMI and do this same thing for awhile now. But, like Mike said, Gotta watch out for Big Brother.

Thanks Mike and Haney. Yeah, I just went and shot it. They don't have security on that side of the river where I was(that I know of). Anyway, I took my wife with us, she's a cop. That helps in all sorts of situations (sometimes).

pretty cool old man.

I never even thought about the neg side of taking that pic. What a crazy day we live in. Pretty soon, it will be illegal to carry a camera or voice recorder?

These cool evenings are giving you just the right conditions .
