The recruit firefighters went to the Fire Training Center at Bayer's Institute plant this week. They had two days of intense live fire training. This training is used to simulate actual fire conditions that they will likely encounter once they are assigned to a shift on the department. The training was made that much tougher by the HOT weather and the cicadas that were everywhere. Captain Philpott and Firefighter/Instructors Taaffe and Carney led the firefighters through their live fire training.
