Babcock State Park

We had planned to got to South Carolina this weekend, but a bunch of little things happened and we decided not to, so instead, we went and visited our cousins that were camping at Babcock.

I've got a bunch of photos of the mill, but it seems that every time I'm there I have to make another one.  It had just rained and the air was hazy and humid and the evening light wasn't the best, so that's why I converted to black and white.

Nerd alert!  This was a two minute exposure at f/8 and ISO 160 using a ten stop neutral density filter and a polarizing filter on a Canon 24-105mm lens at 24mm.

Great shot! I've seen so many "classic" photos of this mill, but this one is different, and delightfully so!

Thanks Nancy. I've got some "classic" photos too. They're made from behind where I'm standing up on the road on the right side of the frame.

A cool thing about such a long exposure is that people that are walking around in your picture disappear. There were probably ten people in my viewfinder while I was making the photo. If you look close you can make out two blurry people on the right.
