Young Saint Albans Firefighter
That's me on the right, firefighter Eric Mitchell and Captain Carl McCormick on the left. That was about 25 years ago. Carl's been retired for at least 20 years. Now I'm a captain and getting ready to retire next month after 26.5 years.

...a day makes. The top photo is from Sunday afternoon. It was cold but sunny. The temperature was about the same today as yesterday, around 15 degrees F.

A couple of rail car panoramas that I liked. The top one is a 3 shot panorama and the bottom one is 4. Click on them for a better view.

Tuesday Morning
One of the most dramatic sunrises I've seen. I was at work with only my 35mm lens for my Fuji x-e2 and I was so struck by the awesomeness that I didn't think about going up on the roof of the fire station until it was over. Booo!

Firehouse Cookin'
A couple of the guys went to the store yesterday to buy stuff for dinner and they were having trouble deciding what to get. They ran through a whole bunch of dinner combos and finally came up with this. They just came up with the recipe while they were there in the store and to my knowledge this has never been made at the firehouse before. I'm not 100% sure of all the ingredients, but I'll hit most of 'em.
Here goes; Homemade mac & cheese with Velveeta queso blanco cheese on the bottom, a sloppy joe mix made with ground chicken for the middle layer, then a can of Pillsbury grands biscuits on top and then just for good measure, some shredded cheese on top of that. Mama!!!

We had a couple of extra guys on shift yesterday because of the big snow we got Sunday night and Monday. From left to right is Luke, Matt, me, Mike, John, Eric and Rex. Mike was getting off shift from the day before and hung around to help is shovel the pad off. Also, this is my first post from an iPhone.
