Firehouse Cookin'
A couple of the guys went to the store yesterday to buy stuff for dinner and they were having trouble deciding what to get. They ran through a whole bunch of dinner combos and finally came up with this. They just came up with the recipe while they were there in the store and to my knowledge this has never been made at the firehouse before. I'm not 100% sure of all the ingredients, but I'll hit most of 'em.
Here goes; Homemade mac & cheese with Velveeta queso blanco cheese on the bottom, a sloppy joe mix made with ground chicken for the middle layer, then a can of Pillsbury grands biscuits on top and then just for good measure, some shredded cheese on top of that. Mama!!!

Happy Thanksgiving!!
Our friends invited us to have Thanksgiving dinner with them today. It was great! Tomorrow we're gonna do it all over again at my mom's.
We've got a lot to be thankful for!

Tuesday Evening

We were eating our Christmas spaghetti at my Mom's on Christmas Eve when her neighbor called and said she had a flat tire and wondered if she would come and pick her up. I told my mom that I'd go with her and change her tire for her. We all loaded up in the Subaru in the pourin' rain and off we went. By the time we got there it had stopped raining so I didn't get too wet changing her tire. The other day my Mom called and said Kitty wanted to fix us dinner for changing her tire. I had to really think about it, you know, a real home cooked meal and everything. ;-) Anyway, we got there and she had the table set for a four course meal. Kitty is in her mid eighties and is an awesome cook. I had to get this picture fast before I started chowin' down. We had a fruit salad, a tossed salad, roast beef with au jus, green beans, cabbage, baked potatoes, homemade rolls and ice cream for dessert. Man it was good. Thanks Kitty!

We don't have these...

...very often, for obvious reasons, but they're so good I had to post again about 'em. Nathans hot dogs, Cattleman's BBQ sauce, sharp cheddar, bacon and onions. We also had light Lays chips and diet Coke;-) Then the wife of one of the other firemen brought us a half of a coconut cream pie and half a pecan pie. I'm starting a FIRP (food intake reduction program) tomorrow.
