Some friends and I went to the Elk river in Clay county today to do some hikin', climbin' and general messin' around. We had a good time and some great weather.

Dupont Ave. Nitro, WV
Nitro and Saint Albans Fire Departments responded to a structure fire on Dupont Ave. in Nitro. There was no one home at the time. The fire was extinguished in about an hour.

More firehouse cookin' by...
...St. Albans Fire Dept. "B Shift" firefighter Matt Poff. Man it was goooood! Matt is the same guy that made the famous "Fireman's Dream" hot dog
The closest we got to a bear...
...yesterday. My wife was wanting to see one real bad, but this was all we got. We followed bear poop all the way around Cow Pasture trail and found several real fresh "messages". Some looked to be from earlier that morning. This was a pretty fresh one, but not the freshest, it was just the first I thought of taking a picture of.

We stopped on the way to Cranberry to get some shots of the Gauley River. These were taken between Fenwick and Craigsville.
Cow Pasture Panorama
My wife, daughter and I went to the Cranberry Wilderness in Pocahontas County today to hike Cow Pasture Trail. We couldn't have asked for a better day and the colors were awesome.
