WV State Baseball Tournament
We went up to the Power Park this evening to watch the AA semifinals of the WV State Baseball Tournament. It was the Herbert Hoover Huskies against the Independence Patriots. The Patriots led the whole game until the bottom of the 7th inning. That's when hoover put on their rally caps and came back to win 7 to 3.

Water Break
This was going on when I drove down the street this morning after taking Molly to school. They'd already started shutting the valve off when I got this picture. I'd say the water was going about 10 to 15 higher when I first saw it.
No water for a while today. Boooo!

Highway Safety
I took this last Sunday walking back from the bridge. It's another one that reminds me of a Pete Turner photo, where the colors are the subject.

Sunday Afternoon...
...from the roof of the firehouse. I can't decide which one I like better. This picture is a 2 shot panorama. Click on it for a better view.

New Steel
New steel ready to be put in place on the Nitro side of the bridge. Some steel is already up on the Saint Albans side. I can't wait 'til it's done!

Baby Birds
Our friend Roger has nest full of baby sparrows at his greenhouse. I was up there the other day getting my tomato plants and he showed them to me. I didn't have my camera then so I told him I'd come back and bring it and Kim and Molly so they could see them too. There are three of them in the nest and the mom and dad really kick up a fuss when somebody gets close.
Tom Hindman (Charleston Daily Mail photographer) had been at Roger's getting some plants earlier this week and he got some pictures of them too. Now the babies are famous because Tom put their pictures in the paper. :-) Click here to see some really cool shots Tom has taken over the years.

Zoar Cemetery
The view from Zoar Cemetery at Keslers Cross Lanes near Summersville, WV. One of Kim's family members had passed and we went up for the funeral yesterday. I want to go back up there someday next winter when there's a big snow on and get another picture from the same spot. Click on the panorama for a better view.
