A great day...

...for soccer.  Teays Valley Christian and Ohio Valley Christian played at Hurricane today for TVCS's homecoming.  OVCS was ahead 2-1 with a minute and 24 seconds left in the game when TVCS scored and tied it up.  I don't know why they didn't go into overtime to break the tie.

A Chevy, a Ford and a fly.

I forgot to post these from Sunday.  First is my wife's rugged and beautiful Chevy.  Then there's the fly that landed on my cousin's Ford.  The fly must have mistaken it for a pile of something else.  ;-)

Lynchburg, VA

Went to Lynchburg Tuesday to help my friend move some of his daughters stuff back to WV.  After we got done loading the trailer yesterday evening we went out to eat and drove around Lynchburg for a little while.  His daughter gave me a tour of Liberty University's campus, then we went to Liberty Mountain to check out the new sonwflex facility.  You can snowboard on the 4th of July in Lynchburg.  After that we went to Thomas Road Baptist Church, the LU bookstore, Starbuck's (where his daughter works) and to Cold Stone Creamery.

The 3rd photo is in the lodge at the Liberty Mountain snowflex spot and the bottom shot is in the lobby of Thomas Road Baptist.

A couple more...

...senior pictures.  Kristin wanted some pictures taken with her truck so we went up to Cannelton strip near the top of Marting Mountain.  Even though where we were used to be a mountain top removal coal mine (gasp!), it's some of the prettiest country around.

What's not to like about mining WV coal?  You get all the energy we will ever need, great jobs and once it's reclaimed, some beautiful country.  WV coal keeps the lights on.  This country is never gonna run on the sun and wind.

Senior Pictures

It was "suggested" to me a while back that I do my cousin's daughter's senior pictures.  I normally don't like to do pictures like that, but since it was family I thought, "what the heck.''  So we all (Kim, me, Molly, Jay and Kristin) loaded up and drove "all" the way to Saint Albans to get some shots.  We had a really good time this afternoon.  Thanks to my daughter for all her help and the use of her chair.  Here are a few of my favorites.

High Poop

I normally don't take pictures of poop, but when it's on a fallen tree that's about 25 feet in the air I find it kind of interesting.  My wife and I went for a hike around the lake and up on the mountain at Wine Cellar Park this morning.  On the way up the hill I spotted a great big oak tree that had fallen across a little ravine and made a bridge, so I just had to go climb on it and walk across.  Once I got up there I saw the poop.  It was about halfway across over the highest part of the log.  At first I thought it was deer poop but now I think it's probably fox.  I can't see a deer going out onto that log.  That's all.  ;-)

New York City

I was looking through some of my shots from our trip to NYC this spring and found some that I liked but didn't post before.  I like the top one 'cause it shows that there are places in NYC where there aren't wall-to-wall people.
