Scott Firefighter Combat Challenge

My daughter and I were leaving Charleston this afternoon and we saw the Scott Firefighter Combat Challenge that was being held on the boulevard so we stopped and watched for a while.

Cathedral Falls

I forgot to post this from my little road trip last Wednesday.  Cathedral Falls, one of my favorite places to shoot.  There was a bunch of people there when I was headed toward Fayetteville, so I didn't stop.  When I got there on my way back home a giant rain storm had just quit but it was still drizzling.  By the time I got to where I took this shot it had started to rain again (you can see some rain spots in the photo) and was pretty dark because another storm was on it's way.  I only got two shots because I thought I was gonna get struck by lightning or my camera was gonna get soaked.  I didn't want either, plus I had forgotten my glasses in the van and could hardly make out the controls on my camera.  I got outta there just in time and got to see quite a lightning show between Gauley Bridge and Smithers.

Fayette County And Some Funky Clouds

I've been left home alone this week because the gals are at camp, so I went fartin' around the New river today.  The stream is Laurel Creek.  It flows into the New at Cotton Hill.  The lake is Boley Lake at Babcock State Park and the clouds are at Haddad Riverfront Park in Charleston.  I stopped there on the way home thinking that the Cincinnati Belle was gonna be there, but when I got there I realized that it won't be here 'til tomorrow.
